Canada. To me, it means everything, like a home, friends, family and freedom. All those things are wonderful, all those things are CANADA.
Canada IS a home, not just for me but for everybody and anybody who needs a home, I’m talking about Canada’s immigration program. My nonnas and nonnos immigrated from Italy to Canada, and they were able to show and keep their culture. In other countries people might have to abandon or hide their culture, but not in Canada! This means that you might , no, WILL make friends!
Canada means that you can have friends. In Canada we can be friends with anybody from any culture or background, my family is very close to another family who are Muslims from Iran. We share our culture with them and they share theirs with us, our lives are enriched by their friendship and in other countries, this friendship would probably never happen. We are lucky in this way that we can think of ourselves as a family.
Canada means, no, Canada IS, family. Almost all of my family lives in Canada and I think of Canada as one big family. My family has had awesome times with other families sharing our commitment to our community and to our own families. We have cleaned our neighbourhood together, enjoyed amusement parks, conservation areas, ski trips and more. Supporting each other and caring about our neighbours is what makes our beautiful country like a family, unlike some other countries where there is no freedom.
CANADA is freedom. In Canada there is no slavery, unlike some other countries. Kids at age 3 and up can be taken and put to work until their hands bleed, even though coca tastes goodthink about the child slaves harvest it without even knowing what it is! That is our freedom of personal wealth. We also have the freedoms to vote, to give our opinion. We are also free to travel across our beautiful country and to choose our own ambitions.
That is what Canada means to me: home, family, friends and freedoms, but to you, Canada probably means other things. Your perspective, maybe 1 of 30 million, enriches my life and the lives of all Canadians. So, this is why if I had to look for a new county to call home, I would choose CANADA.
