Hello, to all my esteemed classmates and teachers. What protects you if your house burns down? INSURANCE! What protects you if there is a flood in your city? INSURANCE! And what protects you if there is a huge tornado coming your way?
INSURANCE!
I know what your thinking at this very moment. What is this crazy grade 7 kid talking about? I'm talking about Insurance and it's definitely not the string that holds up your underpants or the name of your pet raccoon. In return for a monthly bill payed to the Insurance Company it is the protection that replaces your most prized possessions if an unfortunate incident occurs. Like your house, car, health and most importantly your family. Fasten your seat belts because today we are going into the world of Insurance.
Some of you might know this word "CAR INSURANCE", I know your parents would. So, if you have car insurance it protects you from your car getting stolen, being vandalized and car crashes. If you get a speeding ticket your car insurance may increase.
So, please obey the speed limit signs and drive safely!!!!! If your not carrying car insurance you can be fined over two hundred dollars and if you are a repeat offender you may find yourself in the local jail.
OK, lets get on to something that has to do with all of you and that is LIFE INSURANCE. In the event of a family member getting sick or passes away the life insurance policy provides cash and or income to the family. This cash or income allows the family to maintain the same standard of living as they were used to. Many families also buy life insurance to ensure their families future are protected from any unforeseen accidents. The cost of Hospital and Doctor bills can be very high and accidental and life insurance can help reduce these cost to the family.
Now, we are going into your House to find out what HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE is. Well, it is the protection to provide us against natures disasters. A policy ensures the protection of the home itself and the possessions you keep in it. An example would be if a fire started in your home and your home was partially or fully destroyed. The insurance company would help to rebuild your home and provide you a place to stay
while it was being fixed. I think homeowners insurance is good for me because if there was a flood in my basement and my Mom couldn't fix it we would have an unwanted swimming pool for a few days.
As some of you may know, my Dad is in Insurance and has been for twenty years. He works for the Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company, which I might say "is the Greatest Insurance Company in the entire world!" My Dad has helped lots of families through the twenty years he's been in Insurance. I can only hope I'm even close to being like my Dad because I want to work in Insurance when I grow up. Just picture me in a seat of a nice Ferrerai saying Good Bye to my wife and kids...it's the life!!! But, not really like my Dad's life, just take out the Ferrerai and that's his life.
So, remember everyone even though you can't TASTE Insurance like your favourite ice-cream cone or FEEL Insurance like your warm bed at night or SEE Insurance like your favourite Simpsons Episode, it may be the most important item that your family buys for all the reasons I have mentioned today.
