Ancient Egypt

Written in: Grade 5 | Year: 2010

Greetings, noble men ,noble women, priests, arts men, arts women, peasants, welcome to my kingdom Egypt .We have gathered here today to celebrate the greatness of Ancient Egypt. So sit back, and welcome to our world Egypt!

If your thinking this is boring go on get out of here, but for most of us this will be pretty interesting, The first thing we are going to give thanks of is our beautiful environment so keep your ears open as we give thanks to our beloved country Egypt!

Religion- As you know our religion celebrates Gods, there are different Gods for everything including, sun gods pretty gods and much more. But we change our Gods constantly. We changed their names and mixed them with other gods too. To give thanks to the Gods we Egyptians memorize many spells and prayers. We also have high priests that have lots of experience with the gods. But the king of Egypt could only go into any famous tombs. Which you all know is my husband the one with the great power!
Location- Our ancient civilization Egypt is eastern north Africa the civilization was near by at 3150 BC. Our history took place in a series of strong kingdoms separated by times in the intermediate period. Our Famous river the Nile runs all through Egypt.

Environment- Egypt is a place with many differences. By the Nile river there is great soil for growing foods and crops. But the land far from the Nile is very dry, mostly deserts, rocky hills, and some big hills, There is lots of vegetation along the Nile river. The food even spares the deserts, There's many different kinds of animals in Egypt as you already know since you live there( duhh). I'm also sure you know in many parts in Egypt there was something called an Oase- it's a piece of green land that has many green trees and it's a great environment for our animals.

Homes- Big cities in ancient Egypt are built along the Nile river. Small towns have grown around them. Special towns for working men have been set up by burial sites and also temples to help with the work in progress. (congratulate working me). Most of our towns have a big wall surrounding them for protection. Regular Egyptians live in our regular mud and brick houses. They are built like that so the inside is more cool. There isn't much furniture in the houses. Some of the furniture were low tables stools and beds. In some houses the living room is meat for eating and sleeping.
I

Transportation- One use of transportation in Egypt is a boat. We floated all the way to the red sea. and through the Nile to trade furs. Sometimes we even reach India to trade furs! There isn't much use of transportation but one way that we have discovered in another queen's tomb( probably I'm much better isn't it obvious but anyways) It was called a carrying chair for nobles just like me! We also used animals for transportation, the famous animal that we use is the donkey.

Government- Ancient Egypt is a monarchy. Which is controlled by one king ,he was called a pharaoh which is my husband he has lots of power to our country. The pharaoh was in charge all of Egypt! He was a part of the government and all of the citizens accept his power and requests because we know he's part of the gods. Citizens pay the government to help put the countries and building the cities. Now we are going to give thanks to all of my great power! As a queen I have many responsibilities for the country. I am called the great royal wife!

Food- Because Egypt was so dry and hot most of our food was too. We relied on the Nile river to water our crops and plants. We can only grow certain kinds of food too. Some of the foods are, wheat and barley which is made into bread and we also make soup. Another common thing to do today is drinking beer. I believe that we Egyptians were the first to turn wheat and barley into beer.
Tools- From building giant pyramids to carving beautiful things and making amazing pots all these things are helped with our tools. Our tools come in different shapes and sizes. We had them all. We also used oxen to plow our crops the oxen would follow the person who is putting the seeds in and the oxen would follow him. After it is spread by hand.

Family structure- Now I want to be very thankful for our families or else we all wouldn't be here if it wasn't for our parents. Families are regular a father who controls the whole house. The kids have a lot of toys to play with too. But the peasant children have to work with their parents in crops to raise money. The children had to take care of their parents at old age which meant they had to feed them and do things for them.
Culture-Ancient Egypt is considered as one of the oldest civilizations in man kind! There are tonnes of pyramids standing will be standing for the next 3 million years(well at least my beautiful pyramid.) Many treasures have been buried in pyramids to be discovered some day . As you know us Egyptians got married young girls were married at the age of 12 or 13 and boys were a few years older. We never have a big ceremony to celebrate the marriage.
••
Clothing- Us Egyptians think it's very important how we look.
Our clothes are very stylish. working men wore a simple out fit but ladies always wore a dress. We also wore jewelery and made something like makeup! We also sometimes shaved our heads and wore wigs because we loved how pretty our hair was.
Recreation- The games we mostly played were tug of war, arm wrestling, and bard games. VVe also played leapfrog. We also sometimes give piggy back rides to each other.
We also made dolls with yarn hair for girls to play with. The most popular game is senet, many board games have been made.
Contributions to modern day- There are many things that people still today from our ancient times. Like playing some of the same games, drinking the same drinks~ eating the same food and wearing some of the same things. Thank you for listening to the greatness of Egypt.
